Acrylic Laptop Stand

Acrylic Laptop Stand
This is a laptop stand that was made to elevate the screen of my laptop. I made this laptop stand because I would constantly catch myself leaning forward or down to see the screen on my laptop. The stand now eliminates that issue as the screen is now at eye level. This project allowed me to learn how to bend acrylic and taught me how to pivot quickly as I was originally planning on making the stand out of metal.
The design:
I decided to use Fusion360 for the design of the stand as it was fairly easy to make, and I had plenty of options to choose from. It also allowed me to see how the stand was going to be cut out.
Bending the acrylic:
Bending the acrylic was new to me, I learned in order to bend acrylic it needs to be heated up. So, I used a heat gun to heat up the acrylic and used the table I was building the stand on as a way to let gravity do the bending for me. Once it cooled it became rigid again and had the strength to hold a laptop.
Keeping the stand from sliding:
When I was testing the stand with my laptop, I realized that it was going to slide around when a laptop was on it. So, I decided to add some small rubber adhesive feet to the bottom to allow for grip when a laptop is on the stand.
